Doctors

Dr Gareth Hull

BMedSci BM BS DRCOG MRCGP 2002 Nottingham University

Dr Hull completed his GP training at University College Hospital, London in 2007 where he gained his MRCGP and DRCOG. He has worked at Sunray Surgery ever since and is now a partner. He has particular interest in diabetes, men's health and paediatrics as well as enjoying the variety of medical conditions seen in general practice. He is involved in teaching and examining students from St Georges' Medical School. He is also the Child Protection lead at the surgery. He is the Practice representative on the Local CCG Council of Members and for the last year has sat on the CCG Governing Body Board, working on how best to deliver healthcare to the residents of Kingston.

Nurses

Our Practice nurses appointments vary widely from monitoring blood pressure to complex wound dressings, from immunisation travel advice to monitoring chronic diseases. They attend various courses to keep them up-to-date to manage the nursing care needed and has special interest in different areas.

Valarmathy Ashokkumar

Registered General Nurse 2008

English & Tamil spoken. General nursing procedures and prevention. A member of nursing team who can also communicate and advise on prevention in those patients who can only communicate in Tamil .The practice has a very high prevalence for Diabetes well above National and Kingston CCG ,due to the high proportion of South East Asians and most of them has language barrier in understanding . Hence she contributes to diabetic and NHS Health checks specially in this group of patients. Available on Friday AM.

Healthcare Assistants

Natalie Tomassi

Natalie Tomassi joined the Sunray Surgery on 3rd July 2017. Natalie has been a Healthcare Assistant for 6 years prior to joining us. Natalie is able to carry out a variety of tasks as a Healthcare Assistant under patient specific guidance from your GP; Phlebotomy, Blood pressure monitoring, Dressings, Ear Syringing, ECG's, New Patient Health-checks, NHS Health-checks, Flu vaccinations, B12, Shingles and Pneumonia vaccinations. English spoken. Natalie is available Monday to Friday AM and Wednesday PM

Ahmed Al Allaf

Practice Manager

Ahmed has worked in the NHS for seventeen years. He obtained a degree in Management and Accounting. He has considerable experience in management and enjoys creating new systems and services for our patients. Ahmed has a keen interest in ensuring that the correct systems are in place in order to deliver high-quality patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises/ equipment and information technology. He is responsible for the administration of the practice and works cooperatively with our GPs, admin team and other medical practitioners. He finds working in primary care hugely rewarding. English and Arabic spoken.

Omali Abey

Administration

Our administrative team work hard behind the scene to ensure that all aspects of practice administration are completed in timely and efficient way. All members of the Practice Team undergo in-house training and attend/take part in regularly up-dating their knowledge and have all undergone Basic Life Saving skills, along with our Clinical Team.

Reception

When you telephone or visit our surgery most frequently speak to one of the member of our reception team. They are well trained and able to help in various ways-making appointments, providing results, dealing with prescription queries, arranging call-backs from GPs etc. Practice Manager is responsible for smooth running of our reception service and ensure you have the best possible service and the information you need to support your care. Our reception team will always do their best to help you with patience and courtesy. We would respectfully ask that our patients are polite in return. The Practice would not tolerate any form of violence or aggression from our patients (physical or verbal) and patients who display such behaviour may be removed from the practice list.

Saroja Rajathilagam

Senior receptionist and prescription clerk. English & Tamil spoken. Has been in the reception team since 2010 and is a very useful contact for patients who can only communicate in Tamil and consist of a high proportion of our list size. Ratha also provides assistance with administration of our repeat prescription service which is over-seen by our GP's.

Punithavathy Prabaharan

Punitha joined our team in October 2022. She is developing her skills with on-going training in administrative tasks within the surgery. English, Tamil & Singhla spoken

Tracy Barnett

English spoken. Joined our team in January 2016 and continues to develop her knowledge of General Practice Administration. Tracy has also developed her skills and provides Secretarial duties, as well as acting as Chaperone; should you or the Doctor require one. First point of contact regarding reception queries, including online registration & Patient access.

Vasuki Prabaharan

Vasuki speaks English and Tamil and joined our Reception Team in June 2019.

Helen Tarron

Joined in January 2021. English spoken. First point of contact regarding reception queries, including online registration & Patient access.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing. Caroline Forrest, Health Visitor is attached to Sunray Surgery and is available to advise and help our young families. She can be contacted on 07957 203411 Monday to Thursday. She regularly visits the practice keeping us informed of any changes and safeguarding issues with children under 5 years. Caroline holds a Health Visitor Clinic at the Surgery on the first Monday of the Month 2:30 – 4:30.

Attached Staff

Dieticians from Kingston Hospital team visits the practice regularly to support patients on Healthy eating and preventing illness. District Nurses, Palliative care Nurses, Rapid Response Team and Midwives also provide services for our patients. They communicate with doctors regularly on the care provided to our patients.

Susana Tous

Practice Physiotherapist - works every Monday and Wednesday 2.30 PM to 6.30 PM

Hasan Shikh Kilo

Pharmacist. Available on Tuesday.

Zoe Barlow

Practice Dietitian. Attends surgery twice a month Friday PM.
